It's difficult for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a team that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batters to hold a record if never given the chance.

Finally, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting an opportunity to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Originally famous as the 19-year-old niece of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup arrived three months after her first appearance and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 tries across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy scored 170 against England in the championship match and was declared player of the series. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

If this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Certain people claim the case for the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to anticipate.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because I feel like I've had no rhythm completely," said Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your competitive nature take over and you completely engage with the competition."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her great strength - and a priceless quality in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's spark.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from there the batsman was in motion.

"The possibility to play and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that regard, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was removed the team needed 66 more at run per delivery - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the belief to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

Those words will be the last rival teams at this championship want to hear.

During the last week a belief they will succeed regardless of circumstances has become more firm - this triumph succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a significant event.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

Yet even as she subsequently acknowledged those injuries have postponed plans to retire, this championship is expected to be her final tournament as skipper in 50-over cricket and she is yet to win a global event as captain.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
